Le podcast "Historical Jesus" explore la célébration du Sacré-Cœur et la révélation divine qui a conduit à sa promotion. Margaret Mary a ensuite écrit ces révélations, malgré son refus initial, et a été encouragée à les partager. Sa dévotion a finalement été reconnue par l'Église, et elle est devenue sainte en 1920. La célébration du Sacré-Cœur a depuis été instituée dans de nombreuses églises, notamment à la chapelle de la Visitation où Margaret Mary est enterrée.

Feast of the Sacred Heart is celebrated on the third Friday after Pentecost, focusing on Jesus's heart as a symbol of his divine love and physical sacrifice, as promoted by the French Visitation nun and mystic Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647-90) who's devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus was unconditional.
She was canonized a Saint in 1920 by Pope Benedict XV.
