Hello, dear listeners!

It is often said in filmmaking that the edit, the cut, is a sacred thing.

Well, it seems that we at The James Bond Complex believe very deeply in that philosophy because it inspired our longest conversation ever.

But we couldn’t go through the entire series (yes, all 25 films) and dissect its editing on our own.

We brought friend of the show and independent filmmaker Simon Drake to talk about the movie making process and how important editing is for all kinds of storytelling elements.

So here is Part 1 of our Editing Bond series with Simon Drake.

Oh, and there is something a little bit different playing the start of the episode.

We got creative and, to help introduce all 5 parts of the Editing Bond series, have put on a little radio play.

It’s a mockumentary about the making of a non-existent Bond film titled Bomb Voyage.

Some familiar voices are heard, as well as some new ones.

We hope you enjoy it.

It’s tongue and cheek, nothing to take too seriously.

The players in Part 1: Edgar: Bomb Voyage’s director Matt: Bomb Voyage’s producer Bud West (The Bond Brain podcast): the mockumentary’s narrator Jocelyn Sia (Ladies Who Bond on Instagram): Bomb Voyage’s leading lady Simon Drake: the leading man playing Bond Pierre-Olivier: the mockumentary’s director Mathieu Nadeau: the mockumentary’s cameraman Rodrigo Gonzalez: the disclaimer voice
