Privacy policy

Last updated: June 21, 2026

Podcasts Québec respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are.

1. Data we collect

  • User account: if you create an account, we store your email address and, where applicable, a hashed password (never kept in plain text) so that you can find your favourites.
  • Favourites: the list of podcasts and episodes you mark as favourites is associated with your account.
  • Anonymous analytics: we measure site traffic (page views, language, country, browser) without individually identifying visitors and without placing tracking cookies.

2. Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the site (session, language preference, audio player). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.

3. Hosting and data transfers

The site is hosted by Vercel and our database by Supabase. These providers may store or process data on servers located outside Quebec, including in the United States. Before entrusting them with your personal information, we ensure they offer adequate protection through appropriate contractual commitments. No personal data is sold or rented to third parties.

4. Retention period

We keep your account information for as long as your account remains active. When you request account deletion, your information and favourites are erased within 30 days. Analytics data is retained only in aggregated, anonymous form.

5. Your rights

Under the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Quebec, Law 25), you may at any time:

  • view, correct or delete your account information;
  • request the complete deletion of your account and favourites;
  • exercise your right of access and rectification;
  • request portability of your information, that is, receive in a structured, commonly used technological format the information you have provided to us.

To exercise any of these rights, please write to bonjour@podcastsquebec.ca.
